Framed Vintage Art Print, An Idyll by Maurice Greiffenhagen (b 1862), Lovers in Poppy Field Portrait

Print edition from circa 1930s-1950s era, estimated. Frame is later, circa 1980s-90s.
Vintage colour print on slightly textured paper, mounted and framed. Ready to hang.

'An Idyll', 1891, by Maurice Greiffenhagen (1862-1931), as labelled on back of frame. A peasant man embracing and kissing a woman, standing barefoot in a field of red poppies and white daisies, trees in the background with the sunset behind.
Gentle muted colours. Impressionist style with a Pre-Raphaelite feel to it too.
Bottom edge of print states 'By Permission of the Corporation of Liverpool'.

Frame Details:
Slate blue board overlay mount. Moulded wooden frame finished in brown colours with grain pattern. Glass to front. Board back on frame with tabbed and taped back edges. Metal eyes with string for hanging. Some of the fittings are newer.

Size:
External dimensions, including frame, approx 15 1/10 x 10 2/10 inches, 38.4cm x 25.9cm. Size of visible print only (the mount aperture size) approx 10 6/10 x 5 1/4 inches, 27cm x 13.2cm. Upright.

Condition:
The colour tones of this print edition are quite gentle and muted compared to other editions we have seen. Otherwise the print is excellent. Slight wear and small marks to frame edges. Rest of frame excellent.
