2 x Vintage Crawfordsburn (N Ireland) Miniature Art Prints, Hand-Signed R. W. Young, Framed, defects
Circa 1980s, estimated, set of two miniature prints, hand-signed by the artist, mounted and framed. Ready to hang. Defects, see condition notes below.
Two different artwork scenes of Crawfordsburn, a village in County Down, Northern Ireland. The larger one is of the beach with surrounding landscape, and the smaller one is of the Inn (exterior with buildings, street and people). Delicate impressionist style and gentle colours. Appears to be printed on photographic paper.
Artist: R. W. Young. Printed name on the pictures. and hand-signed/titled by the artist on the mounts.
Frame Details:
Board overlay mount to each, light beige colour (but see condition notes below). Moulded wooden frames, warm brown with inner gold line. The larger frame has a deeper moulding with bevelled-stepped front; and the smaller frame is a simple moulding. Glass to fronts. Board back on frames with tabbed and taped edges. Metal eyes with string for hanging.
Sizes:
External dimensions, including frame, approx 21.2cm x 18.8cm, 8 3/10 x 7 4/10 inches; and 15.2cm x 13cm, 6 x 5 1/8 inches.
Size of visible prints only (the mount apertures) 12.1cm x 9.8cm, 4 3/4 x 3 7/8 inches; and 8.3cm x 6cm, 3 1/4 x 2 3/8 inches, respectively.
Both horizontal.
Condition Notes:
Both prints are excellent.
The larger board mount has mottled marks all over and the handwriting is paler than on the other picture. The small mount has slight mottled marks. Larger frame has very minor wear to front edges and some grain splits in the wood to the external side (see pictures). Smaller frame excellent. The rear strings are discoloured.
