Vintage Watercolour Painting, Galleon Battleships at Sea, Framed Size 15 1/2 x 11 5/8 ins, unsigned

Age of painting and frame unknown. Possibly circa mid 20th century? Depicting an earlier age.

Depicting galleon battleships at sea. The ship in the foreground has white/off-white sails, Union Jack flags and St. George flags, cannon on multiple decks and men standing on deck. The two ships in the distance have pale yellow sails and flags with horizontal blue (top), white, and red (bottom) stripes. The sea is quite calm. The clouds in the sky are dark with some lighter breaks. Nicely painted with fine detail but also has a charming naive quality about it too. Appears to be painted on cartridge paper or similar.
Artist: Unknown. Unsigned.

Frame Details:
Lovely old wooden frame with a nice thick moulding, rich brown colour, grain and markings, and a varnished finish. Glass to front. Board back on frame. Tabbed and taped back edges. Metal eyes with cord for hanging. The rear fittings are newer.

External dimensions, including frame, approx 15 1/2 x 11 5/8 x 7/8 inches, 39.4cm x 29.5cm x 2.3cm. Horizontal.

Condition:
Painting excellent. Slight wear and small marks to frame edges. Rest of frame excellent.
