Antique tonal black and white print from a photogravure engraving. Vintage mounted and framed. Ready to hang.

Depicting three deer with heads bowed and antlers poised for a fight. In a wild landscape with other deer in the background. Printed signature 'J. G. Millais' (John Guille Millais, British artist, 1865-1931). Integral warm off-white borders with title to bottom border 'Red Deer' and 'Drawn by J. G. Millais' and 'Swan Electric Engraving Co.'. Superb artwork and very fine quality, typical of the photogravure process which has the look of a drawing.
Art Style: Fine, naturalistic, realistic, rustic, dramatic.

Frame Details:
Red board overlay mount. Wooden frame, brown with grainy muted silver colour inner edges. Glass to front. Board back on frame with tabbed and taped edges. Metal fixing for hanging. The rear fittings are newer.

External dimensions including frame, approx 10 1/10 x 8 2/10 inches, 25.7cm x 20.9cm.
Size of visible print including the white borders (the mount aperture size) approx 6 8/10 x 5 4/10 ins, 17.3cm x 13.7cm.
Horizontal format.

Condition:
Print excellent for its age with a few minute dot marks. Frame edges have small scuffs/marks. A few dust particles under the glass. Rest of frame excellent.
