1930s Trinket Jar or Powder Bowl with Lid, Pale Blue Guilloche Style Top & Marcasite Flower

£20.00 GBP

Circa 1930s vintage glass trinket storage jar (or powder bowl) with lid.

Clear glass jar section, squat circular shape with moulded pattern to exterior sides. Rounded sides tapering inwards to the base. Upright top edge.
The circular lid is made of silvertone metal edges with milled metal fan shape motif to edge. The top of the lid has a muted pale blue guilloche style radial pattern under a plastic film surface. The pattern is probably textured card (not metal) and has a slightly metallic effect colour. The middle of the top has a marcasite floral embellishment but it is off-centre!!
The lid sits on the top (not hinged, not screwed, not a tight fit). The underside of the lid is covered in textured silver paper or foil.
Maker not stated on item.

Maximum height, including lid, about 5.7cm, 2 1/4 inches.
External diameter of jar, at widest, about 4 1/4 inches, 10.7cm.
Diameter of top opening about 7.6cm, 3 inches.

Condition: Glass very good to excellent with minimal wear, and a few tiny air bubbles inside the glass. The lid has a few marks to the metal edges/sides. The flower is off-centre! The plastic film has a few small marks/scuffs and very small marks where it meets the metal edges.
